Employees will have an age reduction changes to 50% at age 70 if still working.
If both parents are employees of the school system, only one parent can cover the children, and an employee cannot be covered as an employee and as a dependent.
Accelerated Death Benefit – provides up to 50% of the face amount if diagnosed with a terminal illness with a life expectancy of 24 months or less and which there is no reasonable chance of recovery.
Accidental Death provides 100% of the face amount if an accidental injury causes death within 180 days of the accident
Accidental Dismemberment provides up to 100% based on accidental loss or dismemberment of appendages, paralysis, coma.
Accidental Benefits provides amounts for seat belt, air bag, repatriation/transportation, child care, education, and occupational assault.
Conversion – Coverage can be converted to Whole Life Policy with no health questions at higher rates
Portability – Option to continue should you leave Bibb County School District with health approval from carrier. Rates are age banded and will continue to increase with age. Coverage terminates at 69.
Employees electing over the Guarantee Issue amount will be subject to completing the Evidence of Insurability Statement.
Employees are allowed to increase one increment each annual enrollment without EOI to Guarantee Issue amounts.
Spouse/Child coverage is Guarantee Issue/No-EOI if electing the coverage as a new hire or during an Annual Enrollment Period.
