Policy Features
Includes an equal amount of Accidental Death and Dismemberment.
Includes an Accelerated Death Benefit which allows you to receive up to 75% in the event of a terminal illness. To be a terminal illness, the life expectancy must be no longer than 12 months.
A Premium Waiver provision is included which will allow coverage to be continued without premium payment until age 65 if an employee becomes totally and permanently disabled prior to the age 60 and the disability lasts for at least 180 days. To continue coverage under the waiver of premium provision, a claim must be filed within 12 months of the employee’s last day worked

Coverage Termination
Coverage ends on retirement or termination of the group policy.
Employees may convert their group supplemental life insurance coverage to a whole life individual policy issued by The Standard within 31 days after termination of employment or retirement.
Employess may also apply for portability provided they are not disabled, have been covered for 12 months, are under age 65 and both apply and pay the first premium within 31 days of your termination date.
